Power Bircher

Happy Monday to everyone!!! Off to a great, new week, and it seems it will be a busy one, so I think I need an extra power boost this morning. And I believe there is no better preparation for a busy day than a good and balanced breakfast! In addition, I just realized that this is my first Swiss recipe! πŸ˜‰ This breakfast (BirchermΓΌesli) is super traditional in Switzerland and you can find it on most breakfast buffet of hotels there. This recipe is not 100% like the original, but slightly adapted and it contains following 5 Superfoods:

  • Oats
  • Greek yoghurt
  • Walnuts
  • Apples
  • Blueberries

Ingredients

Preparation

  • Power-BircherPut the oats into a cup and add some water, so they are very slightly covered, let them soak for about 5 – 10 minutes
  • In the meantime, prepare the yoghurt, cut the walnuts and wash the berries, grate the apple
  • Mix the yoghurt, the walnuts, the apple and the oats, carefully add the blueberries and the raspberries
  • Serve right away and have a great start into the new week!
